Out with Vandaveer

Writing from the back half of these eastern dates with
Vandaveer on a drippy and leisurely Lexington afternoon.
Last night in Cincinnati was a delight(you don't often
get to play in a mansion from 1814).

Southgate House - Newport, KY

I've enjoyed the rain, riverboats a friendly folks out
here. Thank you to Stella's on Jefferson for the fine
brunch. And here's to you NY, Pittsburgh, Chicago and
Bloomington. Let's keep in touch.

We'll be playing Kentucky through the weekend and then
on to Nashville Monday. A homecoming sounds mighty nice,
been too long. I hope to see you at the show.

Spring Touring ≈

Hello friends. Hope Spring is finding you well.

Please remember all the brothers and sisters in Japan
and North Africa. These are trying times folks and we
are one family here on this little blue spec in the
universe.

In an effort to spread some good times and beautiful
experiences, I'm teaming up with LA friends Charlie
Wadhams and Henry Wolfe for a short series of west coast
shows. Henry and Charlie are two of the very best
songwriters I know, their music both sincere and
uplifting; I'm proud to invite you out for this evening
of entertainment and hope you'll bring friends.

Back in Los Angeles/KCRW Performance!

I've returned to LA. Hot dog! I've aquired a new piano.
It's a hundred years old. I'm thinking I'll settle in
for the cold season and make some new sounds around the
house.

This Tuesday, Nov. 16 is an exciting day. I'll be
performing on Morning Becomes Eclectic (KCRW). Please
spread the word and tune in!

Greetings from the road.

It was cloudy in Chicago today. I walked down the same
street I must have taken 1000 times(around 12 years ago) to
get a sandwich at a place that didn't exist when I lived
here. My feet were itchy. I don't know why.

I've been sharing the stage with two teenage swedish sisters
for the past week or two. They're happy to be alive I think.
It's evident that they are supposed to be singing; my friend
Manny in Oregon cried during their set.

Manny and I started shooting a video for "Pocketknife" in
the breathtaking area of Oregon called Hood River. I'll
share more about that in the near future. Here's a still in
the meantime

The Focus Creeps put me in some swim trunks, gave me a
French Bulldog and stuck me in a strange house with the
odd Rainn Wilson. Enjoy

We're out now on the Watson Twins tour. San Francisco was
was a delightful first show, thanks for coming out folks.

As we head into the home stretch of our dates with
Leslie and the Badgers,
I want to thank everyone that came out to support, folks
that put us up along the way, and most of all, the
talented Phil Krohnengold, Ben Redell & Travis Popichak
for brilliant accompaniment and companionship.

Additionally,
I've added a NASHVILLE date upon returning, hope to see
you there.

I'm teaming up with my friend Leslie Stevens,
and her Badger's for some US dates this month.

This piece features "Harry and Bess", a song about Harry
Houdini and his wife. The story goes that Bess Houdini
passed a key to Harry in a kiss (after an hour of struggling
at a widely publicized 1904 escape).

This was also shot in and around my place in Nashville. My
friend Hans captured the performance footage of me, Brian
Stone and Zack Moscow in the living room.

Dawn Batson is featured in the dance, and assisted with the
magic. We got that little frog at petco and made a home for
him out of a plastic salad container i think.

This video was shot at my house in Nashville, and near by
locations (including one of my favorite antique malls and a
train yard that you'll see in more videos to come).

It's a magnificent landscape around here I think.

The song featured is called Arkansas; it's about an unloved
girl who never knew her father until she was 18, when she
discovered he had just been released from prison.
